Got this one off the Bob Evans recipe site and tried it today. Thumbs up by the grown ups in the household, not so much with Buddy and of course, Sissy is way too little for Italian Sausage.
1 package (19 oz.) Italian Sausage
1 red pepper, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 26 oz. jar of tomato pasta sauce
5 sub buns
provolone cheese
Cook sausage in skillet until brown. Place in crockpot. Add peppers and onion. Top with sauce. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
These were good after 4 hours - another tip - buy sturdy buns and put the cheese on the bottom bun before putting sausage link and sauce over that. That way the bottom bun doesn't get too bogged down with sauce and start to fall apart.

I just love sweet Italian sausage. I'll give this a shot. It's been at least 2 months since I've had my crock pot out.
